Before the Show
Front of the Stage, from the back of BC Place

Sing it

So, after watching the YouTube broadcast of the U2 show on Sunday night, I was of the opinion that there was no reason to go see U2 at BC Place Stadium on Wednesday, when they played in Vancouver.

Ha !

The Temptation was too great.

I had to see if I could get a reasonable ticket (Sold Out), reasonable meaning, up close and personal - BC Place is the last venue where you want to be far away...So, onto TicketMonster and would you believe, I could get into the building and be a hundred feet away from the stage, in the third row...right then, done. (closer than the first picture.)

Out in the rain to get there, the zoo to get in and check out the seat.
Amazing.

The Black Eyed Peas are on stage, Fergie.
Ok, Fergie. Will.i.am and the rest of the funky bunch. not so bad.

2 beer for 15 bucks, a program for 25 and the show is ready to launch.
Launch is the right term...look at that thing.
4 days to set up and take down, 750k a day to run...

And there they are, LIVE, again, in person.
the 7th time I have witnessed the spectacle that is U2.

They show up and play, the building plays a part, and the crowd is in
Loud, bright and precise.
The temperature goes up,the old songs get played
The crowd sings along

A new type of karaoke
Pop songs as historical hymns
It sells, it works and U2 are right there to give it to us all

go,
shout it out,
rise up
escape yourself,
and gravity

forced quit,
and move to trash

its all over...
